The Dynetics Solutions Complex will once again be the site of the AlaSim International Conference & Exposition in 2016. The event, scheduled for May 3-5, will bring together members of the modeling and simulation (M&S) community from Alabama, North America and the world. It is designed both to showcase the breadth and depth of the latest M&S activities and to provide a forum for collecting, documenting, displaying and discussing the current state of M&S technology throughout the world. The Alabama Modeling and Simulation Council (AMSC) organizes the annual event.
The conference will feature presentations by speakers and industry experts, as well as panel discussions, workshops, tutorials and exhibits. Dr. Roy W. Spencer, principal research scientist, Earth System Science Center, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, will provide the keynote address on "Weather and Climate Modeling." Dr. David J. Lucia, director of Modeling & Simulation at the Missile Defense Agency, will speak on "Challenges & Opportunities for System of Systems Modeling and Simulation" during the plenary session.
Ralph Weber, executive director of AMSC, a conference committee member and a senior principle systems analyst at Dynetics, said, "We are pleased to once again host the AlaSim event at Dynetics. This year's conference is packed full of great speakers and sessions that will provide education and enlightenment for attendees."
Dynetics Vice President of Corporate Development Steve Cook said, "Modeling and simulation is a Dynetics core capability. As a company whose portfolio includes software and hardware products that range from components, to subsystems, to complex end-to-end systems, we recognize the significance of staying up-to-date on the latest technology. It's a privilege for us to facilitate the collaboration and education this conference provides the M&S community."

About Alabama Modeling and Simulation Council
The Alabama Modeling and Simulation Council (AMSC) was formed to help establish and promote Alabama as a center-of-excellence and world leader in modeling and simulation (M&S). The organization's goals are to serve the regional, national and international (M&S) communities; provide opportunities to learn about relevant research results, on-going projects and vendor products; and create opportunities for members to engage and network with fellow M&S professionals.
