Dynetics Receives 2015 NASA Small Business Contractor of the Year Award

Tuesday March 08, 2016

NASA has selected Dynetics as the 2015 Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year among companies nationwide. The announcement was made today during the spring 2016 NASA Industry Forum at NASA Headquarters. The NASA Small Business Industry Awards (SBIA) presented at the event recognize outstanding businesses that support NASA in achieving its mission.

The criteria for the national award included performing well on all NASA contracts (on schedule and within cost), exhibiting responsiveness to contractual requirements, working cooperatively with contracting officials and program personnel, limiting subcontracting to large businesses and providing innovative solutions to problems/issues that arise in the contract.

In 2010, NASA awarded Dynetics the Marshall Space Flight Center Information Technology Services (MITS) contract to provide a range of services for NASA, including IT security services; IT planning, policy, architecture and integration; telecommunications services; applications and web services; computing and data center services; and audio/visual information services.

Dynetics received the 2015 Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award from Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) on Sept. 17, 2015, which qualified the company to be considered for the Agency SBIA. Dynetics was recognized during the MSFC 2015 Industry & Advocates Awards ceremony for the local award, which the company also won in 2013. The prime contractor award honors the companies that demonstrated success and sustainable achievement toward meeting NASA's aerospace missions.

Jonathan Whitcomb, vice president of Dynetics, said, "It is indeed an honor to be recognized nationally by NASA for our work in IT and related technical services. Working with our local partner to help the MSFC reach its goals and achieve its mission is a privilege for Dynetics as we have continued to grow our business in these areas for both government and commercial customers."

Dynetics provides a wide range of cybersecurity and information technology services. Besides the NASA support, the company provides solutions for cyber risk management, application portfolio management, business intelligence, and security systems engineering and analysis.

Dynetics also partners with industry-leading third-party vendors to provide customers with network and security hardware and software.

In addition to the 2015 industry award, Dynetics received the 2012 MSFC Contractor Excellence Award in the Small Business category. While executing the NASA MITS contract, Dynetics has garnered 100 percent performance evaluation scores in all contract areas for the last seven consecutive evaluation periods, while achieving an average performance evaluation score of 99.6 percent for all 23 quarters of supporting MITS.

Dynetics CEO David King said, "Dynetics' experience in managing complex federal programs has served us well on this contract. We appreciate the confidence NASA continues to show in our ability to provide high-quality IT services responsively with innovative ideas. And, as we are providing Marshall with these services, we are privileged to also build hardware for the Space Launch System, another area in which we are helping NASA achieve its mission."

Dynetics was founded as an engineering services company in 1974, but has grown to offer a range of customer solutions including components, subsystems and complex end-to-end systems.
