Shane Hammett, senior cybersecurity threat analyst for Dynetics, will moderate the "Who goes there?!" session at the Advisen Cyber Risk Insights Conference in New York today. This session is part of "The Dark Side of the Web," one of six tracks featured at the annual conference of which Dynetics is a sponsor.
This session will address who the actors are behind some of the highest profile cyber incidents, both external and insiders. Are they cyber terrorists, activists, or criminals? Does it matter? This session will explore the motives and the tactics that both differentiate and align nation states and criminal gangs in the murky underworld of hackers.
At Dynetics, Hammett assists in providing customers across diverse industries with more accurate assessments of the cyber threat landscape as part of comprehensive cyber risk assessments. To facilitate these assessments, Dynetics has developed Cyber RiskScope®, a portfolio of cyber risk management solutions, to provide clients insight into potential business impacts from cyber incidents, likely cyber threats and appropriate levels of cybersecurity.
Hammett's career includes work in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, he served the U.S. Department of Homeland Security developing the National Cybersecurity Communication and Integrations Center in Pensacola, Fla. He has worked with governors and Homeland Security directors to develop policies related to cybersecurity. He has also been appointed to numerous intelligence groups where he guided the threat intelligence architecture of facilities throughout the Southeast.
Hammett is a board member for Cyber Huntsville, a non-profit organization made up of industry, government and academic institutions dedicated to making Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley region a nationally and internationally recognized cyber leader.
At the conference, the world's largest cyber risk event for insurance professionals, Dynetics will demo its Cyber RiskScope SelfAssure, a Software as a Service (SaaS) portal designed to measure a client's cyber risk position and effectiveness in meeting important cybersecurity objectives.
