Dynetics and Camber Announce New Aviation and Missile Solutions President

Executives from Dynetics and Camber announced today that Timothy R. Kirkpatrick has been named president of Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC (AMS), a joint venture of the two companies, replacing Paula Cushman, who has retired after serving 15 years in this role. Kirkpatrick was most recently command ombudsmen for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) and the acting associate director for the AMCOM Office of Small Business Programs at Redstone Arsenal.

Kirkpatrick, appointed by the AMS board of directors, will lead AMS, which supports the U.S. Army AMCOM and Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation with engineering, technical and analytical services.A native of Huntsville, Kirkpatrick began his government career with the Army Material Command Intern Program as a contract specialist in the Acquisition Center, Redstone Arsenal. Prior to joining government service, he was employed by The Huntsville Times in numerous capacities, culminating in the position of circulation director for The Huntsville News, a morning paper that was a business unit of The Times.

In his most recent position, Kirkpatrick reported to the commanding general as his personal representative to industry, principal small business advisor and liaison to the Small Business Administration. As an independent senior government official, he had responsibility to act on inquiries and complaints concerning the command that were brought to his attention by industry partners, others in the private sector or internal government sources. He provided regular feedback to the full AMCOM and Team Redstone leadership relating to acquisition policy and other concerns raised by industry partners.

His government career included such assignments as contracting officer, chief of the AMCOM EXPRESS Office, a division chief at the US Army Corps of Engineers - Huntsville Center and a branch chief with the Program Executive Office for Aviation."We are pleased to have someone of Tim's caliber take over the leadership of AMS," said Dr. Marc Bendickson, Dynetics' CEO. He understands the programs and the needs that AMS can meet."Kirkpatrick is a graduate of Athens State University with a bachelor's degree in business management and the Florida Institute of Technology with a master's in business administration. He is a Level III Certified Acquisition Professional in Contracting and is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps.
