Dynetics Creates and Donates Activity Books to Madison County's Children

Friday July 31, 2020

National Coloring Book Day appropriately falls on August 2, as young children prepare to return to school - even if that may look a little different for students learning virtually this year.

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, recently created an Aviation Activity Book to help future generations connect to some of the exciting programs that are happening in the Huntsville, AL region. In honor of this fun, nationally-recognized day, Dynetics decided to spread some joy throughout the community. Community Relations Specialist, Whitney Schmitt, safely distributed activity books to little hands all over Madison County, AL. Over 500 books were donated to Lincoln Village, Free 2 Teach, and The Boys and Girls Club throughout Madison County.

"We're thrilled to donate these to so many education non-profits in the area," said Schmitt. "We hope that this will help children in our area learn more about the programs and hardware being manufactured in their own hometown."

The activity books appeal to many different ages. It includes coloring pages, connect the dots pictures, mazes, word scrambles and searches. Kids can learn about various highlights of aviation history as they color historical images such as the Wright Flyer and planes from WWII. The book also features brand-new advancements in aviation: a custom-colored Dynetics Gremlins Air Vehicle could become the next work of art to hang on your fridge or in your office.

You can download and print your own Aviation Activity Book here, and make sure to share your work with Dynetics on social media!
