CNS, Dynetics sign agreement to explore collaborative work

June 01, 2017:

Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS) and Huntsville-based Dynetics have signed a memorandum of understanding agreement with the goal of creating collaborations in areas ranging from material purification to advanced materials and nanosystems.

The three-year agreement with Dynetics and CNS combines the scientific research talents and engineering skills of both parties to explore areas of joint interest. CNS manages and operates the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas, for the National Nuclear Security Administration. Dynetics will be working with personnel from both sites.

"The old saying about two heads being better than one applies here,” said Bill Tindal, CNS Vice President and Y-12 site manager. "It is always advantageous for us to be able to discuss subjects with others who may have a different perspective on a topic."

“Dynetics is proud to begin this partnership with Y-12,” said Dynetics Vice President of Corporate Development Steve Cook. “Being able to collaborate with a group that has the experience of taking ideas and incorporating them into their production is a valuable relationship in this growing field of advanced materials.”

Tindal and Cook signed the agreement during a ceremony at the annual Tennessee Valley Corridor National Summit, which was held in Huntsville this year.
